Preauthorization Hold / Sales Tax

Congratulations — you're getting brand new devices for $0/month thanks to the trade-in promotion!


The only payment you'll make toward the phones is the sales tax per device. Today's payment was a preauthorization hold equal to that sales tax, which reserves the devices for you.


The sales tax is charged when your phones are ready to ship. Once the label is created and phones are en route, the hold is removed and funds returned to your account.


⚠️ Important: Make sure your account has enough to cover both the hold and the sales tax charge so your order isn't delayed.

Tracking Your Order

Once your phones ship, you'll receive emails from both AT&T and the carrier (FedEx or UPS) with tracking info.


📦 Monitor your emails closely so you don't miss the delivery. Each email contains a link to the carrier's website where you can check status and modify delivery options if needed.

Delivery

For security, carriers will not leave phones at the door. Someone must be home to sign.


There will be 3 delivery attempts. If no signature is obtained after all three, the package is returned to AT&T and your order will be cancelled.


To reschedule or redirect your delivery, visit the carrier's website using the link in your tracking email.

Your phone comes with pre-set activation instructions to set up service and transfer your data.

Trade-Ins & Exchanges

Since you're trading in your old phone, you'll need to send it back to AT&T. You can get your free shipping labels and boxes online — no cost to you.

⚠️ Set Up Your Discount — Action Required

If you qualified for an employee, military, first responder, or other AT&T discount, you must verify your eligibility within 14 days of sign-up or the discount will not be applied to your bill.


Don't wait — this step is easy to forget and cannot be backdated once the window closes.

🎁 Your Gift Cards

🎉 As a new AT&T customer, you may be eligible for up to two gift cards based on the promotions you signed up for.


📲 Port-In Gift Card — $150

For bringing your number over from another carrier. The card arrives around the time of your first bill.


💰 Switcher Payoff Gift Card — up to $800

If you still owed money on your old phones when you switched, AT&T helps pay them off with a gift card of up to $800 per line.

Heads up: The switcher gift card usually arrives around the 2nd or 3rd bill — by email or mail — once your final bill is submitted. You have 60 days to submit it, but the sooner the better.
